2026 SPRING Tuber Shipping and Refund policy
Welcome to Lykestead Farms tuber sale !
We grow dahlia with utmost passion. The tubers are sold as a single tuber with a visible eye and guaranteed true to its variety. All of the dahlias listed here for sale has been grown right here in our farm in PA. We do not sell tuber as clumps unless its a small clump that we grew from cuttings.
Tubers will be shipped in the order they are received. We will begin shipping tubers from March 1st to April (earlier than other farms), depending on your location. If you prefer earlier shipping you can send us an email we can try to accommodate your requests. Please note we try our best to insulate and send the package but once the package gets shipped please track the shipment and bring it inside your home as soon as possible to avoid tubers freezing.
SHIPPING
We ship our tubers within the contiguous US via USPS Ground Advantage ( please note this will take ~5-7 days for you to receive the package ) USPS Priority Mail (~2-4 days) . The tubers are packed with vermiculite / Peat Moss and labeled in a bag.
USPS Ground Advantage flat rate $12 (5-7 days)
USPS Priority Mail $14 (2-3 days mostly)
Combine Shipping $3 handling fee
Local Pick‑Up Option (One Day Only)
We will offer one pick‑up date on April 11th 2026 (10am -2pm)
Pick‑up orders will still be charged $12 at checkout
When you pick up your package, we will refund $12 minus a $2 handling fee
If you cannot make the pick‑up date, your order will be shipped — no exceptions
Please note Lykestead Farms will not responsible for lost , stolen or damaged shipment due to shipping carrier. We are not responsible for shipment delays once the package leaves our location. If you have any issues with shipment please track the shipment and contact carrier . We are very small operation and most of the varieties we have very limited supply.
GUARANTEE
We guarantee our tuber is true to variety. Dahlias do vary in color due to environmental factors and may appear different from photos on our site. We have added pictures to show different color variations throughout the growing seasons. Please contact us lykestead@gmail.com by September 1 of the year of purchase with photos of the plant and flower should you believe you have received a mislabel. We will refund your tuber cost.
LIMITS
Please follow the limit rules wherever mentioned. It is Limit 1 per person per household. If we find anyone breaking this rule, all your orders will be cancelled and refunded.
REFUNDS
Our dahlia tubers are packed with care to ensure customer satisfaction and most importantly, to ensure your tubers grow successfully. Please open the package as soon as you receive it and inspect the tubers .If there are any issues with your tubers after they arrive, we ask that you to notify us within 3 days please send us photos and clear video of the damaged tubers. We will happily refund any non-viable tubers that did not make the journey safely. Please note replacement is always not an option as we grow very small quantities. Our tubers are non-refundable 3 days after you receive them in the mail.
No refunds on runt sale . We aren’t responsible for shipping costs but are able to reimburse the cost of the tuber(s) purchased if there is damage upon arrival.
Please keep tubers stored in vermiculite and store in a dry cool place (a garage or basement is perfect) until you are ready to plant. We aim to send the tubers to arrive at the optimal/safe time to plant outside.
Please wait to plant until the ground is 60. In Pennsylvania, our zone is 6b/7a and we wait until early/mid-May to plant. We are not responsible for poor or wet growing conditions or rodent damage that may cause tuber rot and destruction after planting.
CANCELLATIONS / SUBSTITUTION
Cancellations and changes are not allowed after the order is placed. We strive to fulfil your orders as best as we can. But sometimes there could be storage loss or things that is not in our control which is part of farming. Please know we will refund if any of tubers dint qualify to ship.
We do not offer substitutions in case of storage loss. If something unexpected happens, we will refund you the price of the tuber(s).
SANITATION PROCESS
At Lykestead Farms we follow strict sanitation protocol and follow our state's guidelines for shipping tubers across all states. We use 10% bleach solution to sanitize our tools between plants and while dividing the tubers. We also strictly cull any plants that show signs of virus or gall in our fields. Any new tubers brought into our farm are grown separately either in grow bags or in quarantine area. With that being said according to ADS almost 85% of the dahlias have virus. We strive our best to keep our plants healthy. We will not be refunding if the tubers show signs of virus.
TRACKING YOUR ORDER
You will receive an email notification the day your order has been shipped with a confirmation of shipment and a tracking number.
